Almond book review

Almond by Sohn Won-pyung ✰✰ /5

So many aspects of this book attracted me to it. Right off the bat, it reminded me of ‘Out of My Mind’ and ‘Wonder.’ I got through 75% of the book, but it’s unfortunately going into my DNF pile 😦

The story follows Yunjae, a neurodivergent protagonist. The events Yunjae faced were so devastating and I was completely unprepared for the way the story went.

This book is beautifully written, touching and easy to read, but be aware that it is not a lighthearted read.

Although I couldn’t finish this book, it gave me a very different and new perspective, and it has made me want to read more books by diverse authors. I recommend giving it a shot if you haven’t, and I would love to hear your thoughts in the comments!
